This August, Fortnum & Mason invites families to enjoy Tales Over Tea, a whimsical storytelling Afternoon Tea experience held in the elegant Drawing Room of the Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon, Piccadilly.

Created to celebrate Afternoon Tea Week, this heartwarming series is the brainchild of Executive Head of Pastry Roger Pizey. Running across select dates from 4–13 August, the event blends theatrical storytelling with delicious treats—ideal for little ones and grown-ups alike.

Children are welcomed by Fortnum’s iconic red-coated storytellers for an enchanting performance of Harriet the Hedgehog, a seaside tale filled with mystery, mischief, and a missing Knickerbocker Glory sundae. Afterwards, young guests tuck into a playful menu featuring hedgehog sable biscuits, strawberry lollipops, and apricot pastilles, while adults enjoy classic scones and tea in refined style.

With sessions at 11 am, 2 pm, 3:30 pm and 5 pm, it’s a perfect morning or after-school treat in the heart of London. Tickets (£65 for adult and child; individual tickets also available) are on sale via Eventbrite.

Expect laughter, adventure, and just a touch of magic—served with Fortnum’s signature flair.
