5 – 24 January 2026
January at Jermyn Street Theatre opens with Orphans, Lyle Kessler’s darkly compelling modern classic, set in Philadelphia in the early 1980s. At its centre is Phillip, a young man who has not left his home for years, living under the volatile protection of his older brother, Treat. When a drunken stranger is dragged into their tightly controlled world, the fragile balance between safety and control begins to unravel.
By turns unsettling, darkly funny and deeply human, Orphans explores themes of power, dependence and survival with gripping intensity. Directed by Al Miller, the production stars Forbes Masson, Chris Walley and Fred Woodley Evans.
Intimate, intense and brilliantly performed, this is a powerful start to the cultural year in St James’s.
