This spring, Royal Academy of Arts presents the largest survey to date of celebrated British artist Rose Wylie.

Rose Wylie: The Picture Comes First brings together more than 90 works spanning the artist’s remarkable career, including iconic paintings alongside new and previously unseen works on canvas and paper.

Known for her bold and expressive figurative style, Wylie draws inspiration from a wide range of sources — from art history and cinema to newspaper imagery and everyday life. Playful, imaginative and deeply original, the exhibition offers a fascinating insight into one of Britain’s most distinctive contemporary painters.
